quso.ai vs Submagic

Buy quso.ai if you have long recordings and want clipping plus publishing to six platforms on one invoice. Buy Submagic if the clips exist and the gap is how they look. Submagic is the cheaper entry at $19/member/month, or $12 billed yearly, against quso Lite at $29, or $19 annually — but it will not find a clip for you and quso will not style one the way Submagic does.

Disclosure: this page is published by Kineo, which is not one of the two tools compared here and does not compete with either on the job they do. There is a short, clearly labelled note about Kineo at the bottom. Everything above it is written as if we had nothing at stake, because on this comparison we do not.

The verdict

Upstream and downstream, not competitors

quso.ai turns a long video into vertical clips and can publish them. Submagic takes a short video you already have and adds captions, b-roll, hook titles, audio cleanup and silence removal. A lot of people run both and that is a rational outcome rather than a failure to decide.

The free tiers are limited in complementary ways

quso Free: 75 credits a month, renders capped at 720p, chapters and short videos, TikTok publishing, CutMagic, 7-day data retention. Submagic Free: 3 watermarked videos a month capped at 200MB and 1 minute 30 seconds each. quso limits how good it looks; Submagic limits how much of it there is and brands the output.

One of them removes the meter when you pay

quso Lite at $29/month, or $19 annually, lists unlimited 1080p clips — the credit system that governs the free tier largely disappears. Submagic stays counted all the way up: 15 videos on Starter, 40 on Pro at $39 or $23 yearly, 100 on Business + API at $69 or $41. If your volume is unpredictable, unlimited is worth more than a bigger number.

Submagic bills per member and quso does not

Submagic quotes per member per month, so a second person is a second subscription. quso quotes plan prices with storage allowances — 10GB, 25GB, 75GB. For one operator this is noise; for two it is the largest single difference between the two invoices.

Which one you should pick

Pick quso.ai if…

  • You record long-form and need it clipped before it can be styled.
  • You want publishing to 6 platforms and a Content Planner on the same bill.
  • Unlimited 1080p clips from the entry paid tier suits your volume.
  • AI filler and silence removal matter: Essential at $39/month, or $26 annually.
  • You want a Brand Kit, templates and the Viddy assistant — Growth at $49, or $33 annually.

Pick Submagic if…

  • The clips exist and what is missing is how they look in the feed.
  • Caption styling is a differentiator in your niche: 100+ templates and keyword highlighting.
  • You want AI hook titles, audio cleanup, silence removal and caption translation — all at Pro.
  • You need licensed b-roll: the Storyblocks library is included from Pro at $39/month, or $23 yearly.
  • You need 4K at 60fps, which is Business + API at $69/month, or $41 yearly.

The differences that actually matter

Both watermark policies are incomplete, in opposite directions

Submagic is explicit: free-plan videos carry a Submagic watermark and paid plans from Starter up do not. quso.ai’s pricing page does not state a watermark policy in what we could read. So on one side you know exactly what you get and on the other you should ask before subscribing — particularly since quso is the one whose free tier you might be tempted to run on longer.

Storage is priced on one side and duration on the other

quso quotes 10GB, 25GB and 75GB by tier and 7-day retention on free. Submagic quotes a maximum duration per video by tier: 1m30s free, 2 minutes on Starter, 5 on Pro, 30 on Business. One product asks how much you keep; the other asks how long each piece is. Both are real ceilings and they bind different people.

AI credits versus unlimited clips

Submagic lists 3 AI credits a month on Starter, 6 on Pro and 15 on Business alongside its video quota, so the AI features are separately rationed. quso lists 75 credits on free and unlimited 1080p clips from Lite up. Reading "3 AI credits" against "75 credits" across the table is meaningless — they buy entirely different operations.

The vidyo.ai rename is a research hazard

quso.ai is what vidyo.ai became; vidyo.ai/pricing returns a 302 redirect to quso.ai/pricing, confirmed on July 26, 2026. Reviews comparing "vidyo.ai vs Submagic" describe a product that has since been renamed and repriced. Check the date on anything you read.

Frequently asked questions

Is quso.ai or Submagic cheaper?

Submagic at entry: $19/member/month, or $12/member/month billed yearly, against quso Lite at $29/month, or $19 billed annually. Both read from their own pricing pages on July 26, 2026. Note the "per member" on Submagic and the bundled publishing on quso.

Do I need both?

If you record long-form and want feed-native captions, yes — quso to cut and post, Submagic to finish. quso Lite annually at $19 plus Submagic Starter yearly at $12/member is about $31 a month for both halves.

Can Submagic clip a long video for me?

No. It works on a video you upload, with a maximum duration per tier — 1m30s free, 2 minutes on Starter, 5 on Pro, 30 on Business. Finding the clip inside a two-hour recording is quso’s job, not Submagic’s.

Does quso.ai watermark my clips?

Its pricing page does not state a watermark policy in what we could read, so we are not going to claim one either way. Submagic does state it: watermarked on free, removed from Starter up.

Which one publishes to social platforms?

quso.ai — TikTok on the free tier and 6 platforms from Lite up, with a Content Planner from Essential. Submagic does not publish on your behalf; it lists API access on Starter and Business + API instead.

Disclosure: Kineo publishes this page and is neither tool above. It is not a clipper and not a captioning layer — it generates a finished faceless 9:16 Short from one typed topic, captions burned in. Mentioned only because "I have no long video to clip" is the situation that quietly disqualifies half of this comparison.
