Captions vs Creatify
Buy Creatify if you are producing advertising and need variants at volume, ideally built from a product URL. Buy Captions if you are producing content on a phone and want the actor to be one tool among captions, edit styles and generative b-roll. Creatify is $39/month at entry against Captions Max at $24.99, and the extra $14 buys ad tooling you will never open if you are not buying media.
Disclosure: this page is published by Kineo, which is not one of the two tools compared here and does not compete with either on the job they do. There is a short, clearly labelled note about Kineo at the bottom. Everything above it is written as if we had nothing at stake, because on this comparison we do not.
The verdict
One free tier gives you output, the other gives you an empty editor
Creatify Free gives 10 credits a month — roughly 2 video ads or 20 image ads — with 300 AI actors, 10 premium models and 40 templates, watermarked. Captions Free gives basic editing and one caption template with no AI credits and no generative AI features at all. If your evaluation is about the AI actor, only one of these free plans contains one.
Creatify caps the length of a single video; Captions does not
Creatify Starter caps videos at 2 minutes and Pro at $99/month caps them at 10. Captions meters credits — 500 on Max, then 1,400, 2,800 and 5,600 on Scale — with no per-video duration wall published that we could read. For ad creative, 2 minutes is generous. For a long-form piece it is a hard stop.
Input is where they actually diverge
Creatify can build an ad from a product URL or a prompt — you point it at something you sell. Captions is built around a clip you record or upload, with generative elements available from Max up. If you have no product page and no ad account, half of what Creatify charges for is inert.
Both pages carry something you should read before paying
Captions states "All prices displayed in USD. Features and prices reflect iOS plans only", and does not state a watermark policy in what we could read. Creatify advertises annual billing as saving up to 50% without publishing the resulting per-month figures we could verify. Neither is disqualifying; both are reasons to confirm your own numbers.
Side by side
Every figure below was read off each vendor’s own pricing page on July 26, 2026. Where a tier table did not resolve to readable prices, the cell says so rather than guessing — a wrong competitor price is worse than no price at all.

Which one you should pick
Pick Captions if…
- You are making content, not advertising, and you finish it on a phone.
- You want generative b-roll, images, video, music and voiceover in one app — from Max at $24.99/month.
- Caption styling matters: 100+ templates and curated AI Edit styles.
- A chat-based editor is how you want to work.
- Your volume justifies the Scale ladder: 1,400, 2,800 and 5,600 credits at $69.99, $139.99 and $279.99.
Pick Creatify if…
- You are buying paid media and need many variants of the same ad.
- You have a product URL a tool can read and convert into creative.
- The media buyer and ad tracker at the $99 Pro tier would replace something you already pay for.
- A large actor roster matters: 300 on Free and Starter, 1,500 plus 3 custom avatars on Pro.
- You want 5 seats on one plan, which Pro includes.
The differences that actually matter
Watermark: documented on one side, blank on the other
Creatify states plainly that free output is watermarked and that watermark removal is included from Starter at $39/month. The Captions pricing page does not state a watermark policy either way in what we could read. Since Captions is the one with a permanent free plan, that is exactly where the missing answer costs you most.
Credits buy ad units on one side and editor operations on the other
Creatify’s 10 free credits map to roughly 2 video ads or 20 image ads, and Starter’s 100 credits scale from there. Captions credits are spent across generative music, voiceover, images, video, b-roll and AI actors inside an editor. Reading "100 credits" against "500 credits" across the table is meaningless.
Seats are published on one side only
Creatify puts 5 seats on Pro at $99/month and 6+ on Enterprise, with white-label and API discounts at the top. Captions publishes a credit ladder with no seat model we could read. For anything involving a team or a client, that is a published structure against an unknown one.
Neither makes faceless content
Both centre on a person in frame — an AI actor in Creatify’s case, a recorded or generated one in Captions’. Narration over cut footage with nobody on screen is not what either sells, and paying for an actor engine in order to switch it off is an expensive route to that format.
Frequently asked questions
Is Captions or Creatify cheaper?
Captions Max at $24.99/month against Creatify Starter at $39/month, so Captions at entry. Creatify advertises annual billing as saving up to 50%, and the Captions page did not list an annual rate in what we could read. Both verified on their own pricing pages on July 26, 2026.
Which free plan is more useful?
Creatify’s, if you want to see output: 10 credits a month, roughly 2 video ads, with 300 AI actors — watermarked. The Captions free plan contains no AI credits and no generative AI features at all, so it cannot show you the feature you are evaluating.
Can Creatify make content that is not an ad?
Technically yes — it renders video with AI actors. But the templates, the URL-to-ad input, the media buyer and the ad tracker are all built around advertising and you pay for them either way. If ads are not the use case, you are buying the wrong half of the product.
How long can a video be on each?
Creatify caps videos at 2 minutes on Starter and 10 minutes on Pro. The Captions pricing page did not state a per-video duration cap in what we could read; it meters credits instead.
Do either of them need me to film anything?
Creatify does not — it builds from a product URL or a prompt. Captions mostly does: it is built around a clip you record or upload, though its generative features on paid tiers can produce footage, voiceover and images.
One disclosed third option
Disclosure: Kineo publishes this page and is neither tool above. It makes faceless 9:16 Shorts from a typed topic — no actor, no product URL, no upload. It is mentioned once because "I want short vertical video and I do not want a person in it" is a common reason to end up on a page about two products that both put one there.
