Creatify vs OpusClip

Buy OpusClip if you have long recordings sitting unclipped — the raw material is already paid for and $15/month is the cheapest real plan in this comparison. Buy Creatify if you are producing ad creative and have a product to point it at. Neither can do the other’s job at any tier.

Disclosure: this page is published by Kineo, which is not one of the two tools compared here and does not compete with either on the job they do. There is a short, clearly labelled note about Kineo at the bottom. Everything above it is written as if we had nothing at stake, because on this comparison we do not.

The verdict

The source-footage question decides it

OpusClip’s input is a long video you upload or link; every output frame came from it. Creatify builds from a product URL or a prompt and needs no footage at all. If your library is empty, OpusClip is unusable on day one. If your library is full, Creatify does nothing with it.

OpusClip is less than half the price at entry

Starter is $15/month for 150 credits, monthly billing only; Pro is $29/month or $14.50 billed annually at $174/year with 3,600 credits released up front and 2 seats. Creatify Starter is $39/month for 100 credits. The gap is real, and it is a gap between two things that are not substitutes.

Both free tiers are watermarked, and one of them expires

OpusClip Free: 60 credits a month at up to 1080p, watermarked, and clips stop being exportable after 3 days. Creatify Free: 10 credits a month, roughly 2 video ads, watermarked, with 300 AI actors visible. The 3-day expiry is the line most reviews of OpusClip omit and it is what turns its free tier into a trial rather than a workflow.

Duration is capped on one side and windowed on the other

Creatify caps a single video at 2 minutes on Starter and 10 on Pro. OpusClip does not cap clip length that way; it caps how long your export stays available — 3 days free, 30 days on Starter, no limit on Pro. Two different ways of putting a wall in front of you, both worth checking against how you actually work.

Which one you should pick

Pick Creatify if…

  • You are buying paid media and need variants of a product ad at volume.
  • You have a product URL a tool can read and convert into creative.
  • AI actors are the format: 300 on Free and Starter, 1,500 plus 3 custom avatars on Pro.
  • The media buyer and ad tracker at $99 Pro would replace something you already pay for.
  • You have no recordings and no plan to make any.

Pick OpusClip if…

  • You record long — podcasts, streams, webinars — and deciding what to cut is the bottleneck.
  • You want the cheapest paid plan here: $15/month.
  • Auto-reframe from a horizontal source is the specific automation you want.
  • Annual billing suits you: Pro at $14.50/month, $174/year, 3,600 credits up front, 2 seats.
  • You want a recurring free tier that renders at 1080p: 60 credits a month.

The differences that actually matter

The export clock is OpusClip’s real upsell

Free clips stop being exportable after 3 days and Starter carries a 30-day MP4 export limit; only Pro removes it. If you batch-produce and publish over the following quarter, you are on Pro regardless of features. Creatify does not publish an equivalent export window on its pricing page.

Whose voice, and whether there is a script

OpusClip reuses whatever audio is in your footage — there is no text-to-speech narration of a written script. Creatify has AI voiceover built into its ad templates. If you need narration and have not recorded any, only one of these two produces it.

Seats and teams

OpusClip Pro includes 2 seats at $29/month. Creatify Pro includes 5 seats at $99/month, with 6+ on Enterprise alongside white-label and API discounts. Both publish seat counts, which is more than several tools in this category manage — but they are priced for very different team sizes.

Neither produces faceless narration over stock footage

Creatify puts an AI actor on screen; OpusClip reuses the face and voice already in your recording. If the format is narration over cut b-roll with nobody in frame, neither of these originates it, and both price columns above stop being decision-relevant.

Frequently asked questions

Is Creatify or OpusClip cheaper?

OpusClip: Starter is $15/month against Creatify Starter at $39/month. OpusClip Pro billed annually is $14.50/month at $174/year. Both figures read from their own pricing pages on July 26, 2026.

Can OpusClip make a video without a source recording?

No. Its input is a long video you upload or link, and no tier changes that. Creatify is the one of these two that starts from a product URL or a prompt.

Does Creatify need a product to advertise?

It can build from a prompt as well as from a product URL, but the templates, media buyer and ad tracker are all shaped around advertising. Without something to sell, a meaningful share of what you would be paying for goes unused.

What happens to OpusClip free clips after 3 days?

They are no longer exportable, per opus.pro/pricing on July 26, 2026. Starter raises that to a 30-day export window and Pro removes it entirely.

Which one removes the watermark first?

OpusClip, and cheaper: watermark-free from Starter at $15/month. Creatify includes watermark removal from Starter at $39/month.

Disclosure: Kineo publishes this page and is neither tool above. It generates faceless 9:16 Shorts from a typed topic — no product URL, no upload, no actor. Relevant only if the answer to "do you have footage" was no and the answer to "are you selling something" was also no.
