One needs nothing and one needs everything
Creatify can build an ad from a product URL or a prompt — no camera, no upload. Descript edits video and audio you bring to it and charges you by the hour for bringing it. That is the whole structural difference and no feature comparison changes it.
The metering is unrelated on the two sides
Creatify sells credits against ad units — 10 a month free for roughly 2 video ads, 100 on Starter at $39/month, 300 on Pro at $99 — with a per-video duration cap of 2 minutes and 10 minutes respectively. Descript sells media hours ingested: 60 minutes free, 10 hours on Hobbyist at $24/month or $16 annually, 30 on Creator, 40 on Business. Nothing converts between them.

The differences that actually matter
Both watermark the free tier and both clear it at the first paid step
Creatify includes watermark removal from Starter at $39/month. Descript goes watermark-free at 1080p from Hobbyist at $24/month. There is no free path to clean output on either side, which is worth knowing before you plan a launch around a free plan.
Duration caps versus ingestion caps
Creatify limits how long any one video can be — 2 minutes on Starter, 10 on Pro. Descript limits how much material you can bring in per month and does not cap the length of what you export. If you are making 30-second ads, Creatify’s cap is invisible. If you are editing an hour-long recording, Descript’s allowance is the number that matters.
Annual pricing is published on one side and advertised on the other
Descript publishes concrete annual rates: $16, $24 and $50 a month against $24, $35 and $65 monthly. Creatify advertises annual billing as saving up to 50% without a resulting per-month figure we could verify. A published rate can be compared before you buy; an advertised maximum saving cannot.
Neither produces faceless narration over stock footage
Creatify puts an AI actor on screen and Descript works with footage you recorded. If your format is narration over cut b-roll with nobody in frame, this comparison does not contain the answer, and it is a common enough situation that we would rather say so than let both price columns look relevant.
